Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about sending files with Tranzo.
No. Tranzo has no file size limit. Files are streamed in 64 KB chunks directly between browsers. For files larger than 300 MB, Tranzo uses the File System Access API to write chunks directly to disk, so you won't run out of browser memory.
Yes. Unlike cloud-based services, Tranzo is a live peer-to-peer connection. Both devices must stay online for the duration of the transfer. If the connection drops, you can pause and resume in most cases.
Any modern browser with WebRTC support works: Chrome 80+, Firefox 75+, Edge 80+, Safari 13+, and their mobile equivalents. Internet Explorer is not supported. For the best experience on Android, use Chrome.
On the same Wi-Fi network, transfers typically run at 30–100 MB/s (limited by CPU and browser overhead). Over the internet, speed depends on both devices' upload/download bandwidth. There is no artificial cap on Tranzo's side.
Yes. Open Tranzo in Chrome on your Android, create or join a room, then open the same room on your PC browser. Files transfer directly between them. See our Android to PC guide for step-by-step instructions.
Yes. WebRTC uses DTLS 1.2/1.3 encryption for all peer connections by default — the browser enforces this, not us. Your files are encrypted in transit and our server never sees them. See the Security page for full details.
No. Tranzo requires zero sign-up. Just open the site, create a room, share the link or QR code, and start sending files instantly.
Yes. Multiple people can join the same room. Each person who accepts a file offer receives the file independently. The sender can see a live scoreboard showing who accepted, rejected, or is still waiting.
Transfers can fail if the peer connection drops (e.g. network change) or if one device goes to sleep. On mobile, Tranzo includes a 90-second grace period for reconnection after the file picker is opened. If a transfer fails, just re-offer the file — the receiver will see a new Accept modal.
